Ten or more (10+) years of experience in network and transport service management, with project management and customer service training or experience. Plans, manages and supervises IP network and transport service hardware and software installation and maintenance. Mentors subordinates in developing knowledge of and skill with Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) layers 2 through 4, and of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) incident, problem, change, and availability management. Supervises and manages the network and transport service configuration change request process, ensuring that new or expanded capabilities are implemented within cost and schedule goals. Designs and supervises implementation of new and modified network interfaces. Supervises and manages the implementation of firmware and software updates to network transport components. Develops and manages implementation of network and transport service delivery and continuous improvement processes. Develops recommendations for improving the network and transport infrastructure, and its associated incident, problem, change and availability management processes. Supervises and manages implementation of network transport service security, integrity and business continuity controls. Leads the planning and execution of special network transport service projects.
