Job: Application Engineer II



Job Description
General Summary:
Provide technical product selection and application support to internal and external customers and understand requirements for challenging applications.

Principle Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support via phone and e-mail for both internal and external sales people in the areas of product selection and application.

  • Develop and communicate solutions for unique applications including design and special pricing.

  • May travel to resolve field problems.

  • Develop and find solutions to field application problems.

  • May negotiate with internal and external customers.

  • Provide technical product application support.  Understand requirements for challenging applications.

  • May develop solutions for challenging applications in compliance with industry codes and standards.

  • Assist/manage the development and updating of product literature.

  • Responsible for identifying key selling points.

  • Responsible for developing market studies.

  • Assist with product health analysis.

  • Prepare detailed product definitions and related marketing functions associated with product development process.

  • Evaluates components for quality, reliability and performance and advise engineering and purchasing as to those components which might enhance the product.

  • Maintain familiarity with competitors products and identify opportunities.

  • Develop, organize, and present training seminars internally and externally.
  • Conduct product training seminars and Product Center visits.

  • May assist with planning/coordination and attendance of trade shows.

  • May supervise direct reports within the department.

  • Coordinate Computer Aided Product Selection (CAPS) planning, testing, and development.

  • Assist with the implementation and maintenance of products within CAPS.
  • Work as an integral part of the sales and marketing team in the application, promotion, and daily support of the Damper product line.
  • Assist customers with specialized applications by developing creative solutions to challenges encountered by engineers and contractors.
  • Become fluent in national and local codes to become an expert resource in the application of both control and UL qualified life safety dampers.
  • Develop strong working relationships with Mechanical Representatives both domestically and internationally to promote the Greenheck brand and achieve pre-determined sales targets. 
  



Job Requirements
Work requires a professional level of knowledge in a specialized field, which is equivalent to that which would be acquired by completing a regular four-year college program. Or Associates Degree in related field and two years related technical work experience.

Between 3-5 years of work experience is required.
