The Data Center Global Services organization is looking for an extraordinary individual with proven and tested leadership, management, engineering, and organizational skills to operate as an Implementation Engineer.

An Implementation Engineer will be responsible and accountable to drive large-scale global initiatives within the Infrastructure Performance Services subunit of Data Center Global Services. The ideal candidate will need a wide-ranging background, as success in this role will require a candidate to have an understanding IT infrastructure, data center facilities infrastructure and understand how the two are reliant on each other. This understanding will need to be contextual, as contextual understanding of the environment will enable the Implementation Engineer to engage across the core teams of Infrastructure Performance Services.

To be a qualified candidate for this role you must also have experience operating in large-scale data centers and demonstrate the ability to think broadly and strategically, as this is needed for alignment with the larger objectives of the business and peer organizations.

In this role you will be challenged by the environment, your peers, and your customers, it will take a seasoned data center professional with experience interfacing with senior leadership to excel in this position. You must be able to call upon your accumulated experience to scale and innovate ahead of today’s needs and quickly learn to anticipate the needs of your customers.

Expect to travel globally where and when needed to manage and/or support initiatives of the teams you will support.

Role Responsibilities and Requirements:

• Cross functional initiative leadership
• Collocation site and service evaluation
• Software product life cycle development
• Senior technical escalation router for the organization
• Development and deployment cross organizational escalation protocols
• Evaluate efficiency and effectiveness incident management response
• Field test documentation, process and procedures
• Audit organizational efficiency as the advocate for customer availability
• New products/solutions evaluation and recommendation
• Guidance and collaboration with process engineering and improvement initiatives.

Minimum of:

• 5 years operating in a leadership role either directly managing a team or matrix managing resources
• 5 years working with senior company leaders as clients or internally
• At least 3 years experience driving large scale enterprise data center customization projects or similar work in telecom or manufacturing.
• Fundamental understanding of Data Center IT Infrastructure
• Experience working for or with data center collocation facilities
• Vendor/contractor management
• BA/BS degree or equivalent professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of Data Center Facilities Infrastructure (PDU, UPS, Generators, etc…)
• Experience and/or conceptual knowledge of BMS systems and operations management software
• Working knowledge of enterprise ticketing system
• Vendor/contractor management
• Project management, organization and problem solving skills with a drive for results and the ability to handle multiple tasks.
• Process development and improvement skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Maintain awareness of new and emerging technologies and the potential application
• Genuine interest in mentoring junior staff
• Proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, Power Point.
• Must possess ability to build peer relationships
• Must be able to operate with minimal supervision
• Ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and evaluate outcomes
• Willing to travel domestically and internationally
