Principal Responsibilities
- Responsible for installing, administering and optimizing Windows servers and components and related technologies.
- Plan and implement server installations, upgrades, routine maintenance and vendor-supplied patches in accordance with established Information Technology (IT) policies and procedures.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and documentation adhering to industry best practices.
- Monitor and tune systems to achieve optimum performance levels.
- Define and perform server backups and recovery procedures; participate in development, testing, and implementation of business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
- Prioritize and respond to Service Desk tickets as appropriate; provide timely response to escalations in accordance with service level agreements (SLAs).
- Manage enterprise directory services and supporting server infrastructure.
- Act as a project resource and work with senior team members to assist with the design and review of new server systems, applications and hardware; assist senior team members with architecting the server infrastructure required to support these projects
- Coordinate and participate in key process improvements as they relate to the client/server and core infrastructure services environment.
- Coordinate and collaborate with other functional areas within IT to ensure availability, reliability and scalability of corporate servers to meet business requirements.
- Knowledge, understanding, and compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations relating to job duties.
- Knowledge, understanding, and compliance with NCO policies and procedures.
- Provide feedback to management concerning possible problems or areas of improvement.
- Make recommendations to implement improved processes.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent in relevant work experience; industry standard certifications a plus.
- 3 years of related experience in a technical position supporting server environments required. 5 years of related experience in a technical position supporting server environments preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of at least 3 of the following technologies: Citrix XenApp, DNS, DHCP, Exchange 2010, MS Clustering, Powershell, TMG, VMware ESX/ESXi/View/VMA, W2K3, W2K8, or Websense.
- Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team fostered environment.
- Ability to work in multi-tasked environment.
- Ability to prioritize and organize work.
- Ability to adapt to a flexible schedule.
