Job Summary
The Director, Medicare Product Development & Product Management has the following responsibilities:
The Director, Medicare Product Development & Product Management has the following responsibilities:
- Directs the development and execution of new products and management of existing products for Medicare (individual and group). Ensures products strategically fit the market.
- Collaborates with leadership in Medicare Sales/Marketing and Finance to set strategic direction including enrollment and growth targets driven by financial performance, competitive analysis and compliance guidelines.
- Ensures products are innovative, competitive and consistently operating in a compliant manner.
- Oversees a team of professionals across the entire product lifecycle (new product development, launch, ongoing management and enhancement of products and product retirement).
- Leads research for new products, product enhancements, and product redesign. Evaluates the potential and practicality of products in development.
- Ensures market and competitive research data is defined and presented to understand marketplace and successful product strategy.
- Cultivates cross-functional relationships with key stakeholders including sales, marketing, operations, compliance and finance to ensure effective development and deployment of products across the organization.
- Ensures compliance with the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS) and other industry groups for all products.
- Oversees the development of internal and external training materials and tools to drive product understanding and adoption.
- Develops and manages the Product development/management budget.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related field/equivalent experience. Master's Degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years' progressive experience in healthcare product development/management area (preferably in Medicare).
- Extensive Medicare Advantage experience required
- Strong experience developing and launching new products.
- Demonstrated project management skills.
- Strong knowledge of CMS regulations and operations.
- Previous research experience.
- Excellent organization, presentation, analytical, interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Ability to successfully interact with various levels within an organization.
- Strong people management skills and demonstrated ability to effective lead a team.
- Thorough knowledge of MicroSoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Outlook)
