AUDIT MANAGER - QUANTITATIVE ANALYTICS
Leading the Quantitative Analytics Testing Team, the Audit Manager evaluates whether monitoring parameters are set at appropriate levels.
The successful candidate for this Compliance Manager position will leverage expertise in mathematics, statistics and risk experience in helping to formulate and implement sophisticated quantitative analysis in a sustainable and adaptable manner. This team is specifically responsible for developing and applying statistical methodologies used to test the numeric threshold monitoring platform and to produce quality alerts for investigative review, and to ensure the system is appropriately capturing potentially suspicious transaction activity.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Develop statistically sound testing and optimization methodologies that can be expanded and adapted across all models and tools;
* Use sophisticated quantitative techniques to analyze the relationship between yield and underlying data distributions;
* Execute appropriate statistical or mathematical tests to recommend threshold keep/change decisions;
* Develop plan for ongoing threshold optimization;
* Work, coach and supervise team members to extract the necessary data sets to be reviewed for each test population;
* Assimilate large amounts of data from multiple sources, and create meaningful, clear output;
* Document all analysis in an organized, clear manner;
* Adhere to ongoing test schedules;
* Partner closely with the other audit teams to identify and recommend opportunities to improve initial threshold settings.
REQUIREMENTS:
Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Decision Sciences, or Econometrics with a solid background in statistics.
* 5 years experience in a large banking institution/ financial services institution audit environment preferred.
* Expert knowledge and experience in SQL, MS Access, VBA, C++, Matlab, SAS and statistical and data mining tools.
* Professional designation in internal auditor risk management highly preferred
* Excellent Communication and negotiation skills.
* Demonstrated use of statistical techniques; preferably some experience related to computational optimization, marginal propensity analysis, clustering, and regression.
