Consultant Corporate System Engineer

Job Description:

Opportunity to join an ASD team highly involved with advanced platform capabilities for collecting and monitoring information with storage and network systems. The individual will be responsible for developing and managing technical relationships with customers and partners (when required). Responsibilities encompass technical knowledge of selected EMC storage management software products.Comprehensive training and mentoring provided to the right, qualified candidate to become a subject matter expert and embark on an exciting role within ASD as a member of a high caliber, talented technical team. S/he will engage in training, positioning, selling, demos and white papers. Right individual will serve as expertise for supporting pre-sales activity for knowledge of specific software products to improve sales traction and market share growth. S/he will interact with ASD engineering and support when required, document technical solutions, best practice guides and continue as primary technical resource for partners and customers. This individual must have good presence with customers, ability to provide written and verbal presentations to execs and customers and be highly motivated to be the very best on the assigned product(s). Team culture will help this person be successful.This is an externally facing technical position.

This is a critical broad based facing role for someone who enjoys hands on, building a set of expertise in a software area and making a impact and difference to influence revenue growth.

Job Responsibilities:

Subject matter expert to support pre-sales activity

· Deep product training, updates and product knowledge to customers & partners.

· Provide solution and technical product presentations and collect requirements for proposals and product management.

· Install and conduct POCs.

· Assist where necessary on specific product/suite integration needs

· Assist partner when required to broaden knowledge and understanding.

· Technical Services and Level 3 engineering interface for field issue resolution.

· Beta test plan definition and new releases

· Build demo systems to showcase products and pre-sales tools for field enablement

· Liaison with engineering/product management and partners on pre-sales issues

· Write technical whitepapers and collateral

· Support selected situations answering/advising technical pre-sales questions.


Skills:

· Knowledge on storage systems a significant plus

· 10 + years in a customer facing role

· Programming background to develop scripts

· Strong written and verbal communication skills

· Strong customer facing skills with ability to influence

· Ability to solve problems

· Ability to work cross functionally with sales, partners, marketing and engineering

· Must be a self starter and team player

· Ability to travel required with somewhere around 30%
