Scope:The position will be responsible for assisting with federal and state income and property taxes. The position will require interaction with the corporate accounting group as well as other business groups within the company and will report to the Tax Manager.  This position will be located in our Mt. Hope, OH campus.
 Duties:
•Assist with the preparation of federal & state income and franchise tax returns and payments.
•Assist with the preparation of responses to various tax audits and notices regarding federal and state tax issues.
•Prepares research and makes recommendations on various tax issues.
•Assist with the preparation of income tax provisions and tax account reconciliations.
•Review documentation to support compliance with Japanese Sarbanes-Oxley (JSOX) controls and procedures.
•Assist in the training of co-workers and dissemination of new or emerging issues or information.
•Reviews and recommends improvements to information gathering and tax filing process.
•Assist Tax Manager in support of tax technology process and requirements throughout the development life cycle (i.e. requirements documentation, test plans, validation, production support, etc).
•Perform tax research to keep current with new and changing tax laws.
•Assist in the development/implementation of new software releases, change request and enhancements as they pertain to tax functionality.
•Work independently, as well as within a cross-functional project team environment.
•Support "tax customers" on special projects, new products and assessments.
•Support tax department technology needs as they relate to compliance, reporting, analytics and controls.
•Research and determine federal, state and local tax obligations and responsibilities.
•Assist Fixed Asset Department in establishing tax depreciation conventions (ie. Tax, AMT, ACE, State, etc…) within depreciation software.



   
Educational Qualifications:•Bachelor’s degree with 2-4 years of related experience.
 Skill Requirements:
•Minimum of two years corporate tax experience. •Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
•Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
•Ability to work as part of a team.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access. •Ability to apply tax law to business planning. •Knowledge of applicable departmental or business unit practices and requirements.
•Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
•Ability to work independently and in cross functional groups.
•Excellent analytical skills, motivation and confidence to independently address issues.
•Experience with Onesource Tax Software (Go Systems equivalent) and Sage Fixed Assets aoftware.
 Special Requirements:
•Travel anywhere by any means available.
•Manually enter data into system by keypad, view PC screen.
•Communicate verbally and in writing.
•Lift 20 pounds, waist high.
