Key Responsibilities
Responsible for managing and implementing process control to continually improve safety, productivity, cost and reliability of the paint panel lab automated process.
Specific accountabilities:
1. Safety - Program new operations, interlock or make modifications to existing
ones to ensure the safe production; Support all OSHA PSM events including
Hazard Risk Assessments, Management of Change, and other related
activities.
2. Operations - Ensure the process control computer systems and supporting
information database systems are operating 100% of the time during the
production process; troubleshoots software and hardware problems that effect
panel production; Responsibility of SPC data and Accounting (Cycle Time and
Yield) data as it is obtained through process control systems; Identify problems
related to hardware or software and direct the implementation of the solution to
these problems; Support laboratory and departmental 5S goals
3. Training - defines and co-ordinates the training of operators and supervisors in
basic skills needed to operate the systems; Develop standardized work
instructions and best practices for production process, ensure implementation,
and provide necessary follow up to verify effectiveness.
4. Documentation & PM Schedule – Ensure documentation of process control;
Tracking and managing preventive maintenance schedules on the process
control systems along with maintenance of video displays used on control
systems; Coordinate the PM schedule and ensure the spare parts inventory is
adequate to minimize downtime.
5. Continuous Process Improvement - responsible for maintaining and improving
the information Systems that are related to the process control system ; stay
abreast of developments and new equipment in the control field and to
implement such systems when justified.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Experience and Education
Requires:
Functional and Technical Skills
• Proven problem solving, interpersonal, attention to detail skills

Requires:
- B.S. in Engineering or related field
- Minimum 3 years hands on work experience with process control strategies, programming, and problem solving in a manufacturing environment; preferred experience with Allen Bradley PLC.
