JOB DESCRIPTION

DRIVER RECRUITER
Gypsum Express Ltd., a growing, nationally ranked, premier flatbed carrier with 10 locations east of the Mississippi, looking for an experienced, self motivated and driven Driver Recruiter to handle recruiting and retention at our Shadyside, OH location. Position is full time. We offer a complete benefit package including medical, dental, and 401-(k) benefits. Salary is commensurate with experience.

We are looking for a driver recruiter to join our team! The primary function of the driver recruiter is to locate, screen and qualify applicants who meet all DOT and company hiring standards/criteria for local and regional driving positions.

Job Responsibilities of a Driver Recruiter

  • Serve as the initial contact for all Local/Regional applicants.
  • Use interview and questioning techniques to determine if the applicant meets the qualifications for the position.
  • Answer all questions applicants may have about company policies and procedures, including pay and benefits.
  • Prioritize qualified applications for processing purposes.
  • Communicate daily with Director of Recruiting on progress of application status.
  • Maintain contact with applicant, make initial offer of employment and schedule applicant to company orientation.
  • Follow up with qualified applicants who have turned down initial employment offer.
  • Communicate Daily with Director regarding progress on the number of potential hires.
  • Advise Director of any potential problems arising from advertising errors or misinterpretations.
  • Advise Director of any potential problems occurring during the verification process.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workflow.
  • Must be truthful, sincere and dedicated.
  • Must be willing and able to travel if needed.
  • Knowledgeable in DOT and company hiring policies and procedures.
  • Knowledgeable in all areas of the company operating procedures.
