Job Title: Day Porter
Job Summary: The individual will be expected to perform janitorial duties throughout the day and assist in the set up of meeting rooms. Duties include, but are not limited to, perform general janitorial duties, stock consumables, aid in meeting room set ups, move furniture, and other tasks as assigned by the Facility Maintenance team and the client.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Duties include, but not limited to:
Available and timely arrival for scheduled hours
Communicate directly with client to receive work requests and to verify satisfaction of completed work
Read and comprehend work orders and instructions
Clean and maintain varying types of space within and around building
Respond with necessary urgency to work requests
Perform general janitorial duties as assigned by client and/or Site Leader such as emptying trash and recycling containers, restocking consumables, maintaining cleanliness of restrooms, offices, meeting rooms, and church spaces throughout the duration of the work day
Communicate ordering needs for janitorial consumables
Understand janitorial supplies and equipment and use in correct manner
Follow written or verbal instruction on the set up of meeting rooms
Move furniture, including tables and chairs, and arrange according to instruction
Stock consumables and other supplies in room prior to meeting start
Prepare room for meeting by performing janitorial sweep of space, if necessary
Work in conjunction with Building Coordinators to meet set up deadlines
Perform other tasks as assigned by the Building Coordinator, Site Leader, and client
Adhere to all safety standards
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required. An individual should demonstrate the following competencies:
Works and participates well as a team member
Communicate well with others; clearly write and speak to clients, superiors, coworkers
Good organization skills; disciplined approach to daily activities; takes a sense of pride in all aspects of the job
Exposure to the functions and importance of Facilities Maintenance
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid state driver's license
