Job: Contract Manager II

About the Job

Primary Purpose:
Responsible for developing and managing cooperative contracts awarded for the CP program. 

Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
·        Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in business, public administration, engineering or related field or equivalent work experience
·        Professional certification in purchasing preferred or working toward, such as
·        Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM),
·        Certified Public Purchasing Buyer (CPPB), or
·        Certified Public Purchasing Officer (CPPO)

Special Knowledge/Skills:
·        Ability to effectively utilize computers and software including Microsoft Office Suite and other software required by Division
·        Ability to organize, prioritize, meet established deadlines and handle multiple tasks
·        Ability to maintain accurate and auditable records
·        Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) using proper English grammar
·        Ability to speak in public preferred

Experience:
·        Five years public or private sector purchasing experience
·        Experience with cooperative contracting preferred
·        Background in one of several areas of expertise such as construction, engineering, materials, furnishings, finishes, HVAC, and/or building envelopes preferred

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
1.          Manage cooperative contracts.
2.          Act as a point of contact for CP with vendors.
3.          Present at or assist with public presentations at CP trainings, seminars, tradeshows, and conferences.
4.          Conduct detailed interviews of potential vendors and industry leaders as well as end users to ascertain state of the art product standards and best methods.
5.          Present at or assist with post award orientation meetings with awarded vendors to establish lines of communication.
6.          Work with vendors to develop marketing plans.
