BIS Application Support Analyst
Omgeo’s Business Information Systems (BIS) Application Support team is responsible for end user support of Omgeo associates’ use of BIS applications, including; our CRM system, Business Process Management system and business collaboration platforms as well as other enterprise security tools such as our endpoint security software and privilege management software.
The analyst will bring the technical skills to be able to maintain and troubleshoot complex issues relating to various server applications and to support our end users.
**The qualified candidate will have the opportunity to learn and manageSecurity Information and Event Management (SIEM) system, Splunk; providing support from both an end user and technical perspective; generating reports, delivering advice, general maintenance and enabling new feeds. The analyst will then be responsible for cross training other members of the BAPPS team.
Responsibilities:
- In addition to regular systems and applications support (~70-80%) you will be tasked with maintaining, managing and configuring our Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) application (20-30% of time); partnering with internal stakeholders such as Information Security, Compliance, and Operations to ensure the SIEM application is functioning and configured to expected standards and best practice guidance.
- You will also become the main point of contact for SIEM dealing with issues around adding new data sources, building dashboards, build and designing queries and setting up security alerts.
- You will also be responsible for running the project to migrate from the old SIEM (EnVision) to the new (Splunk).
- Project Execution: you will coordinate projects to ensure successful completion; communicate with end users, team members and BIS team, providing regular updates
- Organize training; facilitate and provide training for team on as required; review and develop training materials.
Requirements:
You should have 2-4 years of experience in the management of Linux and/or Windows servers, with technical aptitude in server and systems maintenance, end-user support.
Intermediate to advanced skills in
- Applications Support; Windows Admin; familiarity with Linux (command line, navigation, etc.)
- SNMP, SysLog, RegEx (Regular Expression) is greatly desired
- Experience in Splunk or with another SIEM tool is very desirable.
- Solid Scripting languages; such as Python, Perl, PowerShell or JavaScript
- TCP/IP Networking & internet/ web technologies
- Understanding of query construction using SQL or un-structured query tool
- Written and verbal communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Knowledge of confidentiality and other information security issues important in a client-focused company
Education/Certifications/Affiliations
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field required.
