Job: ADVISORY SCIENTIST I

Location: Alsip, IL 60803

The ideal candidate will possess the ability to function effectively in laboratory and manufacturing environments, performing testing and analysis of rigid packaging products.

Will manage multiple critical material application projects and provide technical support to Crown’s internal business divisions and customers. The candidate will be responsible for defining and evaluating the print performance for existing, modified and new container applications.  This includes conducting manufacturing plant trials and performing container compatibility testing, recommendation of suitable material.

The ability to deal effectively with employees at all levels of the organization is critical. They must be able to function effectively in both a team and individual environment with persistence and an attention to detail. This role will require the ability to interact with Manufacturing and Research staff.  Effective written and oral communication is required to manage relations with vendors or customers. We require the ability to manage multiple projects and the ability to prioritize effectively.  Experience in the packaging or rigid container industries in the food, aerosol or beverage areas is desirable. 

Competency in Microsoft Office products, i.e. Word, and Excel is required. Experience with Access and SQL databases and Minitab is desirable.

B. S. degree in Materials Science Engineering, Chemistry or Chemical Engineering or experience in rigid packaging coatings and operations.
