Job: Turbine Engineer - Power Plants/Simple Cycle/Mechanical Engineering

A Senior Mechanical Engineer is needed for a leading electrical power utility with operations in the Southern Plains States. The Senior Mechanical Engineer is responsible for lead major maintenance on the simple cycle fleet, providing technical support for all combustion turbine plants, and driving major projects at these plants. Qualified candidates must have a BS in Engineering and 6+ years of combustion turbine operations and/or maintenance experience. This is a permanent position in the Springfield, MO area with excellent compensation and industry leading benefits offered.

Responsibilities for the Turbine Engineer

• Lead major maintenance on the simple cycle fleets
• Provide technical support for all combustion turbine plants
• Lead major projects at the plants
• Conduct outage support, operations support,and inspections
• Condition and performance assessments of plant equipment and systems
• Investigate equipment failures and root cause analysis
• Manage component repair

Requirements for the Turbine Engineer

• A BSME or BSEE is required for this position
• A qualified applicant should possess a minimum of six (6) years of progressive experience related to engineering and construction in a power generation setting.,A qualified applicant should possess a minimum of 6+ years of combustion turbine operations and/or maintenance experience in a power generation setting
• Excellent Project Management skills are required, e.g., planning, scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, etc.
• A qualified applicant should possess strong bureaucratic acumen as you will be regularly interfacing with internal employees, contractors, subcontractors, EPC/Engineering firms as well as local, state, and federal regulators.
• Experience within a Utility or OEM
• You will be required to travel 25%-35%between the company's various power plants throughout the southern Great Plains region of the United States (All plants are within a several hour driving radius)
