JOB DESCRIPTION

Social Services Licensed Clinical Psychologist will earn up to $80,000 (depending on experience).

Social Services Licensed Clinical Psychologist position highlights:
- provide psychological care to mentally ill inmates / Wards, supervise patient conduct and ensure the safety of people in the facility
- conduct mental health evaluations including criminal, psychological and substance abuse history; assess inmates current needs and treatment recommendations
- conduct suicide risk evaluations according to protocols; clinical review, data/ chart reviews, documentation
- interact with mentally ill inmates/ wards for crisis intervention, group psychotherapy, face-to-face interviews
- identify symptoms and signs of psychiatric disorders; comprehensively assess, diagnose and treat symptoms
- review patient's mental health records, institutional chromos, probation reports and court records to help define treatment plans
- assist with patient-inmate Entitlement Benefit (SSI) applications, community programs and services
- communicate patient information and care to inmate's relatives or care givers (approved by patient)
- conduct mental health education resources for mentally Ill and sex offender inmates
- contribute ideas to implement new treatment, training and rehabilitation programs
- monitor inmate's progress using Subjective Assessment Plan Evaluation (SOAPE)
- prepare clinical reports to include diagnoses, prognoses, and treatment plans
- provide information and reports for various facility staff and Board members
- analyze audit data as it relates to mental health program requirements
- collectively discuss difficult cases with Manager and team mates
- document all interactions and care initiatives taken with patients
- adhere to all mandated regulations, policies and procedures
- select, administrate, score and interpret psychological tests
- act as Clinician-of-the-Day; allow availability to work on-call
- represent department at formal and informal settings
- communicate and collaborate with staff
- perform Mental Status Exam (MSE)

- valid California Clinical Psychologist license in good standing from California Board of Psychology a must
- minimum 1-3 years recent and continuous experience as a Psychologist
- outstanding communication, listening and behavioral analysis skills
- possess all pertinent California permits and certifications
- fluency reading, writing and speaking fluently in English
