Job: Securities-DTC Settlement Analyst

Position - Securities-DTC Settlement Analyst

Main Function
•     The Settlement Operations department supports all settlement activity for the firm, also known as North American Securities Operations. Incorporated into settlements are various processing areas, all of which support multiple business lines. The areas are broken down into numerous groups that perform tasks relating to various areas of settlement. The groups incorporated under Settlement Operations are Buy-ins, EFG operations, COD, COR, DTC, Government, MBS & International Settlements; each area provides support to settlement related activity.
      
     The group provides direct support to the sales and trading desk and interfaces with many other operational groups while moving hundreds of millions to billions of dollars in cash and securities on a daily basis.

     Analysts will liaise with the Sales Assistants and Trader Assistants as well as Desk, Customers and Counterparts and other internal operations and finance areas to ensure tasks are processed in an efficient manner and the business is properly supported and well controlled.
     
     The main function of the job includes controlling and providing support for domestic settlement activity.


Main Duties
• Trade settlement within US markets
• Stock and Cash break investigation and resolution
• Fails Management processes (pre/post settle date) in conjunction with Middle Office, and Back Office operational teams, along with client/counterparties
• MIS Production Transactions, breaks, fails, cash value
• Work with various counterparties and Middle office groups towards trade clearance
• Create and maintain daily controls and checklists for adherence to firm and regulatory requirements
• Ability to quickly and accurately function across multiple settlement platforms simultaneously
• Willingness to learn new processes, as well as suggest and formulate improvements to existing processes
• Work across multiple regions in the daily resolution of fails and exceptions

Person Requirements
     Basic Qualifications
• Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience
• 1+ years Trade Settlements experience
• 1+ years Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Outlook, Word, Access, and PowerPoint)
     Preferred Qualifications
• Working knowledge of ADP, Impact, DTC Settlement Web/PBS
• Knowledge of Securities Industry and market participants
• Project life cycle experience– independent and in team environment
• Extensive knowledge of the DTC PTS system including Participant Browser System / Settlements Web
• Knowledge of ADP cage system
• Strong problem solving, multi-tasking, and analytical skills
