Job: Sanitation Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION

Job is located in Columbus, GA.


Hostess Brands, LLC, maker of the iconic Twinkie is looking for a Sanitation Manager for the Columbus, GA, production facility. Reporting to the plant manager, this position is responsible for directing all activities necessary for the cleaning and sanitizing of production equipment on a daily basis in accordance with USDA, SSOP, HACCP, FDA, GFSI (BRC/SQF), GMP safety policies and procedures, development and management of the master sanitation schedule, creation and maintenance of state and federal compliance paperwork and the departmental budget, and facility pest control. Three years of sanitation supervisory experience in a food manufacturing environment is required. Competative salary and benefits package. 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Responsibilities
.
  • Directing all activities necessary for the cleaning and sanitizing of production equipment on a daily basis in accordance with USDA, SSOP, HACCP, FDA, GFSI (BRC/SQF), GMP safety policies and procedures.
  • Confer with multiple production departments to develop, implement, and manage a master schedule of sanitizing and cleaning assignments.
  • Responding to reports of sanitation problems and USDA and FDA issues, and monitor sanitation performance as needed to verify guidelines and procedures costing specifications and system data.
  • Prepare and compile required company and government reports within required deadlines and retain as required for production and food safety audits required in food manufacturing.
  • Investigates ways to reduce waste, downtime, and improve equipment and employee utilization in our continuous efforts to improve processes.
  • Employee relations, scheduling cost control, and coordination of all sanitation activities.
  • Development and management of departmental budget
  • Manages, trains, and develops departmental personnel
Basic Qualifications:
  • Food manufacturing sanitation experience and working knowledge of SSOP USDA FDA HACCP and GMP.
  • Experience with ERP systems, such as SAP.
  • Good mechanical aptitude.
  • Effective management abilities.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Effective communication skills.
