This is an URGENT and CONFIDENTIAL search on behalf of an automotive supplier with a *NEW* R&D location opening immediately in Bay City, Michigan. This supplier is approved with the major OEM's and this project has launched.

The Electromagnetics and Motor Drive Specialist will be working with an integrated team of engineers and designers in the development of the electrical systems design on this new system at this new R&D center.
Experience:
· Minimum 10 years experience in the design or electromagnetic devices such as motors, actuators, sensors etc.,
· Use of Finite Element software such as ANSOFT, Maxwell, ANSYS etc.
· Use of Motor design programs
· Strong research and product development background
· Working with customers and to translate customer requirements to component requirements
· Mentor and teach other engineers
Qualifications
· Must have Masters in Electrical Engineering or preferably PhD
· Proficiency in Finite Element modeling of electromagnetic systems
· Proficiency in motor design, preferably in the fractional horse power and low horse Power machines
· 5 plus years experience in the design of power Electronics and motor Drive Systems systems, especially brushless permanent magnet motor drive systems
· Strong research and product development background
· Use of MatLab in designing control systems for motor drives
· Use of Analytical tools such as P-Spice, SABER, Matlab/Simulink, etc
· Working with customers and to translate customer requirements to component requirements
· Must have ability to conduct independent research and product development
· Published papers and or patents will be a plus.
· Designing, implementing and testing analog, digital, and power electronic circuits
· Thermal Modeling Capability using Ansys and Flowtherm
