Job Description
Webster TX area client has a requirement for a network administrator to help with a medical leave during the Christmas holiday.
We are looking for someone who can work from Dec. 16, 2013 through Jan. 3, 2014. The client wants someone with good Active Directory Experience, Microsoft Exchange administration and the ability to provide desktop support to the users of the organization.
The position will work closely with the IT Manager to establish and maintain a corporate IT services environment, provide adequate backup and recovery capability, and continuously improve the reliability and performance of the corporate environment through planned proactive technology based initiatives, projects and support.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide support for a wide array of IT systems including servers, firewall, routers, computers, printers, desktop applications, phones, mobile phones and any equipment essential to the corporate technology environment
- Responsible for the day to day network and systems operation including but not limited to assisting with helpdesk
- Ability to configure and install server equipment
- Administer weekly preventive maintenance activities for servers and network equipment
- Maintain technical and procedural documentation for key aspects of the department including but not limited to:
a. Assets procurement and tracking
b. Equipment Cabinet and physical cabling scheme
c. Server and virtual machine layer diagrams
d. Department process and procedures - Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (Desired) or equivalent industry experience
One or more industry certifications desired: MCSA, MCSE, Security + Network +, related field
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- At least 4 years of experience with Windows configuration and installation.
- At least 4 years of experience administering a Windows environment in a LAN/WAN topology, Active directory, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS and WINS
- At least 2 years of experience with Exchange 2003/2007 Multi Node Environment Administration in a 100+ user environment.
- Strong working knowledge of installing, configuring, and troubleshooting products in as many of the following areas as possible
- Microsoft Exchange Server including OWA implementation with SSL
- Microsoft Windows Server with a high-level understanding of Active Directory design and implementation
- Virtualization Experience (VMWare HyperV)
- Microsoft Windows Terminal Services
- SAN experience
- BackupExec for Windows Server
- HP/Compaq and Dell servers experience desired
- PC configuration and patch distribution tools (e.g., Ghost, WSUS)
- Extremely good understanding of DNS
- Strong connectivity background (TCP/IP,VOIP, subnetting, HP Procurve, Watchguardnetworking equipment)
- DMZ, firewall and perimeter device knowledge
- MS Office Suite
- Must be available on a 24/7 basis in the event an emergency requires his/her involvement for resolution
All Candidates must be able to commit to the full contract period. All candidate must be able to pass a drug screen criminal background check and a degree verification.
