Senior Applications Engineer -RF/Microwave

The Senior Applications Engineer will serve as the main technical support to the Sales Team and a direct interface to the UK based design team. You will be a key contact to trouble shoot equipment issues, define requirements for new opportunities, translate customer requirements into technical specifications, ensure the design team remains focused on customer requirements during the realization of these products, and be empowered working with the sales team to identify new technologies and capabilities that customers may need in the future.
The role will involve occasional travel to customer sites as well as working alongside the UK development team. You will report to the Operations Director with a second line to the Sales & Business Development Director.
Location: Lewisville, TX (Dallas metro) Potential relocation assistance for ideal candidate.

Responsibilities:
- Technical Support to Customers facing challenges with Cobham Equipment
- Technical support to the Lewisville Sales Team, including customer liaison, resolution of queries and direct technical support
- Decomposition of customer operation intent into system requirements
- High level solution architecture predicated on an understanding of extant product, future roadmaps and available capability
- Solution level value engineering to ensure wining propositions
- Communication of requirements with UK team, continued oversight of lower level design, and continual customer liaison throughout the lifecycle
- Review and Approval of proposed solutions against the design intent
- Must possess excellent customer facing skills and be able to own the customer technical relationship and deliverables in the pre-sales and post sales phases of the customer lifecycle.
- Bachelor's Degree in an applicable science or engineering discipline
- 5 years of work experience in Antenna systems engineering and/or demonstrated technical leadership in a related discipline
- 3 yrs. experience within Aerospace and Defense industry
- Intermediate level of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PP)
- Prior experience working with customers deliverables in the pre-sales and post sales phases of the customer lifecycle.
- Prior experience with and strong knowledge of one of the following of RF based communications technology in an airborne environment (HF/VHF/UHF SATCOM/L-band) including RF signal filters, distribution systems
- Ability to travel up to 20% or as needed
- Selected applicant may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified
- Master's Degree
