SUMMARY PARAGRAPH OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The Mobile Vehicle Mechanic performs routine maintenance, Inspection, and repairing of all Clean Harbors vehicles at Branch locations. Technicians must be able to complete all fleet maintenance processes and ensure that units meet DOT specifications at all times and properly fill out company forms
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

•Ensures Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times.
•Correct all equipment deficiencies and perform preventative maintenance on company owned equipment as prescribed by management
•Ability to perform thorough inspection of equipment and identify unsatisfactory condition.
•Assures that all Equipment is properly secured prior to work/repairs, i.e. chockblocks, jackstands
•Full compliance with mandatory Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements during all work related activities and tasks
•Participation in company safety initiatives
•Travel to other locations to perform repairs and maintenance on equipment as required
•Completes and submits all associated paperwork as required for tracking PM schedules.
•Perform compliance and safety inspections on company equipment and property as required by management
•Coordinate parts for mobile repair unit
•Support and assist coworkers as needed during repair
•Maintenance of all general repair equipment, and shop tools
•Safe Operation of company owned vehicle at all times
•Filling out and submitting all required documentation in an accurate and timely manner
•Maintain active light duty or DQ driver status as per mobile vehicle type
•Performs other duties and tasks as assigned from time to time by management and will be required by the needs of the Clean Harbors business.

EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE

Minimum
High School Education or equivalent

EXPERIENCE

Minimum
3+ years of diesel truck repair experience required

REQUIRED LICENSE(S)/ENDORSEMENT(S)

•Other security identification clearance may be required for Facility access?????
•Valid driver's license and clean driving record with Commercial Drivers License (CDL) where required. Able to pass a comprehensive Background and Drivers qualification check
•OSHA 24 hour training
•CDL Preferred
•Brake Inspector Certification requirements
COMPETENCIES

•Ability to travel within assigned territory (greater than 70% travel required)
•Able to work with little or no direct supervision and as a member of a team
•Enhance maintenance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
•Proven Heavy Duty Technician Experience
•Attention to detail
•Able to work under strict timelines
•Strong communication skills
•Must be willing to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and overtime as required
•Determine vehicle condition by conducting inspections, scheduled PM's and diagnostic tests; identifying worn and damaged parts & replacement as necessary
•Certifications in related fields preferred (Freightliner, Sterling, Western Star, Detroit Diesel, Cummins, Allison, CAT, Eaton Fuller) (Preferred)
•Welding experience (Helpful)
•DOT certified in FHWA Inspections & Air Brakes Required
•Must have experience in Engines Chassis Drive-line Hydraulic systems Brakes A/C systems Electronic systems

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

•Climbing, speaking, listening, standing, grasping, reaching, stooping and crouching, as well as lifting, pulling/pushing and carrying up to 70 lbs.
•Long periods of driving from location to location
•Working in an elevated position using a portable platform or ladder; ability to climb in and around equipment
