Job: Maintenance Technician



Job Description

Position Summary
Performs assigned tasks with general supervision associated with Maintenance Department activities including, but not limited to, facility, building, and equipment related issues.
Essential Functions / Key Results Areas
1. Performs tasks proficiently with little or no direction/supervision in the following types of maintenance work (GMP and non-CGMP): electrical, plumbing, welding, sheet-metal, carpentry, painting, and mechanical.
2. Works from verbal and written procedures to support production and development needs and work independently in the numerous work sites, process areas, laboratories, and utility areas with general supervision.
3. Generates requisitions for materials, equipment, spare parts, and tools required to perform assigned tasks. Contributes recommendations for improvements to materials, and tools.
4. Arrives at work punctually or communicates absence or addresses tardiness in a timely manner. Documents and reports labor time allocation on a weekly basis.
5. Assists in the continued updates and improvements to all maintenance Standard Operating Procedures. To contribute recommendations for improvements to work methods, safety procedures, and other work activities documented in these documents.
6. Assists in overseeing the work of independent contractors (electrical, mechanical, janitorial, etc) while on-site.
Additional Responsibilities
A. Maintain the proprietary nature of the Company-s technology, trade secret information and know how in compliance with the Confidentiality Agreement signed upon employment of the employee.
B. Observe safe working practices including completion of required safety training, attendance at scheduled safety meetings, and performance of safe operating techniques in the labs, production areas, and office areas. Comply with all Quality, Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures and governmental regulations.
C. As a hazardous waste equipment system maintenance technician, performs duties in accordance with internal controlled documents, local, State and Federal regulations.
D. As a generator of used oil and universal waste, performs duties in accordance with internal controlled documents, local, State and Federal regulations.
E. Performs air permit compliance duties in accordance with internal controlled documents, Local, State and Federal regulations.
F. Other duties as assigned.
