I.T. NETWORK & TECHNICAL SERVICES MANAGER
Millcreek Community Hospital is seeking a full time I.T. Network & Technical Services Manager.
SUMMARY: Plans, organizes and manages the data center and data communications network components of Information Technology. Designs, implements and supports all network and hardware facilities to include PCs, local and wide area network and processing equipment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Plans, installs and maintains all aspects of computer network/hardware while ensuring software compatibility with the HIS and viability (includes power, servers, software, communication lines, switches, desktop PCs & printers).
2. Tests, evaluates and researches computer technology and software for performance, reliability and compatibility with current technology and future needs.
3. Maintains strict network & data security working with the I.T. Director, and in accordance with IT Policies and procedures.
4. Maintains systems documentation including current network schemes and any documentation required by regulatory standards.
5. Maintains procedures for backup and recovery of critical network/hardware activities and tests these procedures routinely to ensure the backups function as intended.
6. Coordinates preventative maintenance on computer equipment and maintains records of failures and corrective actions by internal and vendor personnel.
7. Analyzes existing requirements and needs, assists in the procurement process to acquire the appropriate technology and manages the implementation of new technologies.
8. Maintains accurate records of equipment inventories.
9. Facilitates the repair of Servers, PCs, printers, switches, and other related equipment.
10. Provides technical recommendations and direction in the use and deployment of new technologies.
11. Establishes standards and monitors all systems and performance monitoring utilities and works closely with IT staff to achieve efficient utilization of computing resources.
12. Maintains data and network services and provides alternative operations in the event of catastrophic disruption of services.
13. Manages network performance and provides specialized expertise in local and wide-area networks.
14. Assists in providing emergency or back up on call assistance in the event of system failure or scheduled maintenance.
15. Manages IT Support Specialists including consultation on performance evaluations, promotions, hiring and disciplinary responsibilities.
16. Manage the processing of incoming calls to the IT Support Specialists via both telephone and e-mail to ensure courteous, timely, and effective resolution of end users issues.
17. Identifies key support metrics and regularly reviews data with team and IT Director to determine process updates and improvements. Identifies internal and external support trends and takes steps to proactively prevent and/or solve problems
18. Performs other related duties as assigned by authorized personnel or as may be required to meet emergency situations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Education: Bachelor degree in computer science or related discipline; or an associates degree and MCSE or related certification
Minimum Experience: Four years complex network management experience, preferably in a healthcare environment
Minimum Skills: A thorough knowledge of computer networking topologies and design, network security concepts, Windows Server 2003/2008, Active Directory, HP Servers, printers, Cisco Switches/firewalls and network security devices.
