About the Job
The Marketing Director is responsible for managing the product management and marketing communications team for the Nanotechnology Systems Division. Specific responsibilities include planning and executing all related marketing activities and programs, developing and implementing sales tools and infrastructure, and defining product positioning and sales strategies. The Marketing Director will oversee the product management processes, including defining market product/application requirements for product development, in support of product sales and distribution. The Marketing Director will work with the marketing communications team to coordinate all events, advertisements, and promotions. Must attend and participate in conferences, exhibitions, and industry shows. Travel is required with some international travel.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
· Manage (direct supervision) division Product Managers and Marketing Communications personnel.
· Develop, Implement, and Manage the EM strategic marketing plan.
· Develop product positioning and value proposition strategies in conjunction with Product Managers.
· Organize and Report information on competitive product analyses, market share, trends, price points and other useful sales/product/market data.
· Define market requirements documents for ongoing product roadmap/development.
· Identify, develop, and target key market segments and applications to increase market share.
· Plan, organize, and manage the execution all product marketing programs and events.
· Lead the marketing team in the design of brochures, data sheets, application notes, and general product marketing collateral.
· Utilize and Leverage SFc CRM for leads, contacts, sales opportunities, forecasts, and product/marketing collateral.
· Work with product managers to author and maintain portfolio price lists.
· Measure effectiveness (ROI) of advertising programs, trade shows and other promotional activities.
· Work with factory, corporate sales, vendors, partners, and customers to promote Hitachi brand and increase company revenue and unit sales.
· Maintain and Promote Hitachi Brand integrity and recognition across multiple channels and end users.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· BS / BA in related Science, Marketing or equivalent. Advanced degree preferred.
· 10 or more years total product marketing experience.
· 5 years of product marketing management experience in the electron microscopy (preferably TEM) instrumentation field.
· Strong media relations; crisp writing and presentation skills.
· Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to lead and influence all levels of employees (including Executive Committee).
· Demonstrated team leadership skills.
· Must have experience marketing a technical product from inception to launch.
· Must have extensive experience in defining end-user customer requirements and managing analytical instrumentation related products.
· Product line (SEM, TEM) knowledge.
· Leadership - Ability to work with and direct others.
· Solid organizational skills.
· Air travel and overnight travel.
