This is a research and development position. Candidates must be interested in thinking, problem solving, and learning. They must be able to generate and communicate new ideas and be able to constructively critique the ideas of others.
We are a successful government contractor who also works on private contracts.

What you need for this position:
- Advanced knowledge of data mining – e.g. statistical classification models, clustering, time series data, handling large data sets, Artificial Intelligence, Self Organizing Maps, Fuzzy Logic, Data Mining of text and image data, machine learning, probabilistic modeling and reasoning (Bayesian Networks).
- Programming ability includes: C, C++, Java, Perl, Unix/Linux.
- Demonstrated capability to work independently as well as effectively within a team environment on multiple projects, switching easily from task to task and learning new concepts as necessary.
- Ability and desire to meet with customers, understand their needs, and generate appropriate, innovative technical solutions.
Additional Skills (Experience with any of these will be considered a strong plus):
- Good understanding of the complexities of service-oriented architectures and the ability to design and analyze a system in that type of environment.
- The drive and desire to use open source software where possible but not afraid of implementing it on your own.
- User interface development.
- Experience, understanding or familiarity with MATLAB.
- Experience writing conference papers, journal articles, white papers, project reports and proposals.
