Currently, we are seeking qualified candidates for a Technical Project Leader opening to join our Engineering organization.
Day to Day:
The Technical Project Leader role has primary responsibility for:
Today, you might be leading an engineering team to design a cooktop model. Tomorrow, you'll be scoping new project requests from the marketing team. And, you might translate marketing requirements in product attributes. You may also lead engineering builds with the division.
What you will do:
- Deliver cooking projects, from concept to production, through out all the phases of product development.
- Lead a technical engineering team to deliver the features and systems in the product.
- Specify product requirements and attributes based on marketing needs for the product, develop the plan for development and validation of those requirements.
- Create the engineering schedule for the project and lead the engineering events and toolgates for product development.
- Lead engineering builds with the plant for upcoming projects.
- Interface with marketing, program manager, procurement, manufacturing site and other cross-functional organizations to drive the product delivery.
- Scope new marketing requests for upcoming projects.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
What you Need to Succeed:
- B. S. in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred.
- 5-7+ years experience with project delivery and product development.
- Understanding of product development tools: FMEAs, Stack-up Analysis, Critical Parameter Management, Six Sigma/Opex.
- Experience with stage-gate product development processes.
- Experience designing components/subsystems.
- Prior experience as technical project leader is a plus.
- Strong decision making skills, with a drive to proactively obtain complete and accurate information.
- Excellent project management and communication skills.
- Outstanding people skills, with the specific ability to interact as a lead player.
- Dynamic self-starter with the ability to manage multiple projects.
- Capability to work across functional boundaries to solve problems.
