Job: Supervisor - Power Distribution/Utility/Electric

location: Davenport, IA 52803

Service Operations Supervisor opening with a client located in the Davenport, IA area. This position will be responsible to supervise and direct gas and electric field personnel in the operation of the distribution/transmission systems and customer response system over an assigned geographic area. This position is bonus eligible. Relocation is available for eligible candidates.

Responsibilities for the Supervisor

• Supervise, direct and coordinate electric and natural gas operations-related functions of construction, operation and maintenance and customer service activities
• Assume a high-priority responsibility for public safety while ensuring a safe work environment for employees
• Understand, administer and enforce rules and codes of governing regulatory and safety agencies
• Optimization of resources, workforce safety and health, system reliability and regulatory and environmental compliance
• Handle escalated, unusual or difficult inquiries/situations through direct personal action
• Deliver ongoing complex technical training to internal and external groups
• Lead and provide expertise to tactical and technical committees to improve delivery services operations, the company and the utility industry
• Additional responsibilities as requested or assigned

Requirements for the Supervisor

• Bachelor's degree in business, technical engineering or related field or equivalent experience (typically six years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor's degree.)
• Effective leadership abilities and interpersonal skills with at least one or more years in a senior technical/leadership role
• Distribution Engineering experience (69kV or less)
• Effective analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills and ability to demonstrate these skills while under pressure
• Project management skills; ability to prioritize and handle multiple issues and projects concurrently
• Experience working with / supervising Union personnel is a plus
