An Engineer with strong interest in product design and excellent communication skills is needed to work on vehicle seating systems. The Engineer will be responsible for supporting technical and program interactions with the customer platform team and General Assembly Plant. The Engineer will act as the DRE (Design Release Engineer) supporting and leading technical and change management with the customer on the program. The Engineer should have good communication skills - written and verbal. The Engineer will be the key liasion between the customer, JCI and other Tier 1 suppliers for coordinating product design, drawing releases and validation from mock up to final production and will be spending time betweeen the customer and JCI technical centers.

Qualifications

4 years degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. 1 to 3 years prior work experience in automotive seating or interiors preferably in a customer new product launch role (internship or co-op experience will be considered). Prior automotive experience as an Intern/ Co-op will be considered. Familiarity with UG and Catia V5 CAD an added plus. Document development changes and ensure all parts / drawings are released/maintained at the latest rev. level in the BOM, and that design costs are managed. Lead customer and tier 1 supplier meetings and track changes through Engineering work orders. Support vehicle build events and validation through the seat development cycle.
