Job Description:
My client is seeking a Lead Tools Engineer experienced in the design and implementation of engineering tools for SW implementation, integration, and testing. You will work with our engineering teams and customers to identify, define, and implement tools that simplify the SW development, integration, and testing on embedded wireless devices. We are looking for people who are passionate about great software tools, and who get satisfaction from serving the tools needs of a fast-moving software engineering team.The ideal candidate will have a focus on engineer workflow efficiency and get satisfaction from making other's jobs much easier. He or she should also have a deep appreciate for automation and an understanding of how to build frameworks to automate common sequence, procedure, and usage patterns.
Responsibilities:
- As a Lead Tools Engineer you will be responsible for tools strategy and roadmap including tools for our development engineers, integration support tools for our customers as well as internal products, and testing tools and automation for our customers and internal engineering teams. Your responsibilities include:
- Driving the device integration and test tooling strategy
- Development of internal Eclipse-based software integration and test tools
- Development of extensions to our embedded integration portal and infrastructure, including integration with internal and third party tools such as Jira and Confluence
- Enhancements to tools for test automation support and integration with other test tools such as wireless network simulators
Requirements:
- Bachelors in CS or EE, Masters preferred
- 5 or more years of experience with Java development
- 3 or more years of experience developing plug-ins for the Eclipse tools platform
- Working knowledge of J2EE paradigms and environments
- Good communication and technical writing skills
- Experience with development of embedded debugging tools
- Experience working with mobile platforms (Android, Windows Mobile, iPhone, RIM, WebOS, etc.) or their SDKs is a plus
- Demonstrated leadership competencies in a highly technical environment
- Some experience with C & C++ development is a plus
- Experience with network simulators a plus
- GSMIUMTS protocols knowledge a plus
