Job Description:
Position Overview

The consulting engineer is responsible for the technical project management and execution of automation projects in the process industry. He is responsible for the design concept and the written specification in particular. He generates the detail design specification and therefore the requirements for the technical implementation. Leading a variety of project oriented engineering tasks. Successfully develops, applies and shares knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures in a complete engineering area. Responsible for whole scope of tasks including quality, budget, schedule and technology.

This position will report to Engineering Manager Industry Automation/Automation Systems/Process Automation.

Responsibilities

The position is responsible for leading other engineers for design and implement Process Automation projects using PCS 7. The detail list of responsibilities includes:
• Develop Batch and Continuous programming scope for the project, create breakdown, estimate efforts, assign tasks to the engineers and follow up the progress
• Present and review documents with customers, deliver internal presentations, conduct on-site trainings, deliver pre-sales or product demos to customer
• Lead a team of engineers consist of internal and contractor engineers to implement PCS 7 systems
• Document the Software Functional Design, obtain customer approval and ensure systems is designed to the approved design
• Review and approve system panel drawings and coordinate efforts with panel builders
• Create test documents, obtain customer test simulations and perform hardware, logic, sequences and batch tests
• Plan and lead the commissioning activities


Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

• BS in a related engineering field (Electrical, Computers, Instrument, Chemical),
• Minimum 8-10 years of Distributed Control Systems/Programmer Logic Controller (PLC) design experience preferably for both continuous process control and batch programming
• Ideally SIMATC PCS 7 Batch and Continuous programming experience otherwise must have experience with other DCS systems
• Leadership, communication, reasoning and interpersonal skills.
• Work effectively in team environment and be able to lead other members of the team
• Work in plant environments, assess equipment and personal safety and follow guidelines

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

• Safety Instrumented System standards Knowledge and relevant certifications
• Familiarity with automation related IEC and ISA standard
• Computer Networking, Windows 7 and SQL knowledge and relevant certifications
