Bromma is currently seeking a Field Service Engineer/Technician that will be located in our Durham, North Carolina office. We are looking for a self motivated, energetic team player to join our organization. As a Field Service Engineer/Technician, you will provide our North America customers with direct technical support and services for all Bromma related equipment in the region.
Cargotec’s Bromma Spreaders is a global product, and the industry’s most experienced manufacturer of container
spreaders and lifting equipment. Since the 1960’s, we have built thousands of fully automatic crane spreaders with an
estimated 5000 units in operation globally. Bromma has delivered spreaders to more than 500 terminals in over 90
countries on 6 continents. Bromma’s spreaders are in use in 47 out of the top 50 ports worldwide.
The person hired for this position will work closely along-side our other Field Service Engineers and in close partnership with the Americas Sales Team.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Detailed Responsibilities:
· Start-up and commissioning of new equipment into service.
· Perform classroom and hands-on training at customer sites.
· Coordinate resources within the company to resolve customer inquiries with regard to refurbishments, upgrades, damage inspections, and other service related needs.
· Maintain good communication with customers.
· Complete quality service and commissioning reports.
· Relay design or functional problems identified in the field environment to Product Support Team.
· Relay information concerning customer needs and problems to Service Manager, Sales Group and R&D.
· Program and test electronic equipment for spare parts or warranties.
· Install software upgrades in the field.
· Make needed programming changes at customer sites.
· Assist spare parts team as needed.
· Arrange and coordinate field projects between all parties, including subcontractors, unions, equipment rental companies, etc.
· Perform other related duties as assigned.
· Travel is estimated at 50% - 75% of the time.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education
· High School diploma or GED is minimum requirement.
· Preference will be given to those with advanced technical degree and/or training.
Experience
· Candidates must have a strong and diverse technical background including mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems.
· Experience in commercial and/or large equipment electrics is highly desirable.
· Computer experience is a must. (Work, Excel, PowerPoint, PLC programming, etc)
· Three (3) years of relevant work experience.

Candidates must possess a valid State driver’s license and have, or be able to obtain, a valid Passport and a TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Credential) card.
