Directory Services Systems Engineer
Coronado / San Diego, CA
Active Top Secret clearance w/SCI required
Responsible for designing, data processing infrastructures.
Provides high-level technical support for data processing systems, creates and maintains data processing documentation, maintains hardware and software standards, and works projects as needed in order to upgrade to new and/or improved data processing equipment and procedures.
Must be well versed with the advanced engineering and administration of Microsoft Active Directory, server infrastructure server management systems and data interconnects.
- Plans network layouts and configures systems to user environments; maintain network architectural diagrams for systems, servers to include virtual platforms.
- Ensure full interoperability and a seamless connection between all internal and external systems to include, but not limited to NIPRNET, SIPRNET, and JWICS
- Maintains current knowledge of relevant hardware and software applications as assigned
- Manage local and remote environments, projects, and installation of new devices, systems
- Provide on-going maintenance of site infrastructure.
- Participates in special projects as required.
Baccalaureate Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Business Administration, Mathematics, or a related field. Relevant experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
Relevant certifications and licenses will be considered.
5+ years hands-on experience with Server hardware platforms from vendors such as HP, Dell, IBM, and Cisco to include Rack and Blade solutions.
- Must be competent to work at a high technical level on all phases of systems engineering activities.
- Must have good communication skills, shows tact, effective listening skills follow through and anticipates questions while being prepared with answers or follow-up.
- Must be able to work independently with little or no supervision while researching new technologies or comparing technologies to meet the customers need while providing an unbiased opinion.
- Candidate must be a self-disciplined, self-starter professional who can successfully bring projects to closure with minimum direction and oversight.
- Server operating systems such as Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008 and next generation technologies
- Server software programs such as Microsoft Exchange Server, Microsoft SQL Server, SharePoint Server and other server software.
- Experience configuring, maintaining, replication, and recovering data from on-line Backup systems between COOP sites.
- Security software such as Anti-virus, Anti-SPAM, Anti-Spyware, and other security related technologies.
