Vistronix is actively seeking an experienced Oracle DBA to join our operations team and support development efforts for a government client in Fort Collins, Colorado.

Responsibilities:
Position Description:
The successful candidate must be knowledgeable of and experienced with managing and maintaining Oracle databases in a production environment. Prior experience with SQL Server databases is highly desired.  Principal responsibilities include:
  • Configuration, maintenance, and support of production Oracle databases in an enterprise operations environment
  • Maintain application databases and data feeds
  • Configure and maintain multi-site data failover capabilities
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:  
  • Four year technical degree such as Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or Engineering; or 4 years of Oracle administration is required.
  • At least seven years of overall IT experience as a DBA in an enterprise class data center is preferred.

Required Skills and Competencies:
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Oracle administration, including 11g
  • Execute standard procedures with a high degree of quality
  • Communicate complex information well using MS Office

Desired Skills:  
  • Recent experience supporting live production databases
  • SQL Server 2008/2012 administration
  • Support of COTS products using Oracle or SQL Server databases
  • Experience administering Windows, Linux, and Solaris server operating systems
  • Oracle and/or SQL Server certifications
  • High availability and disaster recovery configuration
  • Experience supporting spatial databases ( ESRI ArcSDE )
