About the Job

Eurofins Frontier Global Sciences (formerly Frontier GeoSciences), an internationally recognized leader in the testing of heavy metals, is searching for an Business Unit Manager.

OVERALL OBJECTIVES :                  To lead and expand EFGS in the USA along the agreed upon Strategy. Exceed business expansion and profitability goals.

SPECIFIC ASSIGNMENTS:

• Develop EFGS activities through organic growth (including outsourcing of industry / government labs) with the objective to double in size within 5 years while meeting agreed EBIT growth objectives.


• Develop the local strategy to grow the business. This includes developing a strategy to dramatically increase sales to environmental clients.


• Improve operations efficiency of laboratory and logistics. Streamline the operational processes and make good use of IT so as to achieve high efficiency. Support the development, implementation and optimal use of the Company’s LIMS and ensure its efficient usage at all levels of the laboratory to improve productivity and profitability.


• Lead / take part in the marketing and sales process and ensure that the relations with the clients are good and efficient. Attend and lead meetings with key clients, at all levels and develop an in depth knowledge of customer requirements through regular meetings.


• Make sure that cross-selling synergies with other Eurofins Environmental laboratories are being developed: also with relevant Eurofins Food Testing US Laboratories.


• Take appropriate measures to improve economic profit, including hands-on personal commitment in addressing situations where profit levels are hurt.


• Hire, motivate, develop and retain excellent Managers and employees.

Define and agree goals and milestones with his/her team(s) and ensure goals are defined and communicated. Set up customer centric Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to monitor progress. Follow up as appropriate and become hands on if required to ensure achievement of goals.

• Improve the technical and scientific aspects of the business by ensuring the appropriate development and application of new techniques and business processes.


• Develop and agree with the President of Eurofins Environmental Testing US, a business plan to achieve and/or expand market leadership in the Country, while reaching the required level of profitability.


• Prepare and propose annual budget and 3 years plan. Report on any deviations to deliver agreed upon results to his/her shareholders.


• Develop and report on the Business Unit KPI’s.


• Lead / take part in Group projects / initiatives / assignments in the Country and abroad as agreed from time to time with the President of Eurofins Environmental Testing US.


• Ensure that EFGS has appropriate systems, work ethics and policies in place to guarantee high quality of service to clients.


• Maintain Customer satisfaction, including that of internal customers.


• Guarantee and control that all relevant legal and Health & Safety requirements are being abided to, that the accreditations are being maintained and regularly expanded and that all employees act according to Eurofins values.


• Lead according to Eurofins Leadership Charter and act as a role model for leadership and staff.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS:

• Proven leadership skills including high energy, motivation, and passion for growth


• Business Development Experience


• Demonstrated financial success

BASIC MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• At least 10 years of working experience in business sector, of which 3-5 years held full P&L responsibility


• Understanding of Environmental related B2B business


• M.S degree

• Increase of profitability and Economic Profit (EBIT – 16% of capital employed) of EFGS.


• Improvement / success on agreed upon KPIs and projects.


• Quality of service (Customer Survey and TAT).
